MTB in Morzine
It is in the heart of the Portes du Soleil area that Morzine is located. The central position of Morzine makes it possible to reach the village, by gravity, from most of the Portes du Soleil ski lifts.
This area includes 12 French and Swiss resorts, such as Les Gets, Châtel or Champéry-Morgins. Considered as one of the largest ski areas in the world, it is also one of the best equipped French areas for mountain biking.
Why do I like to ride and do MTB classes in Morzine ?
I really like Morzine because there is a great variety of trails and there are accessible to all pilots. The Avoriaz side, also called Super-Morzine, is very flowy, superbly maintained and ideal for beginners. More experienced riders will like the big berms and jumps. From Avoriaz you can go to Lindarets area, Chatel, Champery in Switzerland and a few more resorts. Le Pleney, on the other side of Morzine, is more demanding! The slopes are steeper and much more technical. Great for mountain bikers who enjoy more natural or committed trails. You can ride down to Les Gets from top of Le Pleney.
Morzine is also close to the resorts of Samoëns, Morillon and Carros d'Arraches and is located 40 minutes from Cluses and Thonon-Les-Bains train stations. The summer opening period is from mid-June to mid-September.
